Democracy for China??

1. Democracy is breaking down in many countries. Political parties and leaders spend most of their time and money fighting to get or keep power, rather than concentrating on  issues such as unemployment, poverty, health, education etc.
In some countries (e.g. the USA) money buys power and influence, and more and more power (political/media) is concentrated in the hands of wealthy small groups.
In some countries (e.g. Australia) there are too many representatives and different levels of government clash and overlap

2. China has a chance to avoid the mistakes of the West and develop its own unique form of government, a system without political parties.

3. Someone might object: parties keep each other honest....how can you have honest government without an "opposition"?   Answer: the opposition system, as said above, hinders rather than helps good government. Some other form of honesty check is needed : a free and responsible media (whose integrity/impartiality is protected by legislation, as is the case with the BBC in the UK), backed up by frequent elections (every 2 years?)
