2005-12-31  The last photos of 2005 - Saturday evening meal at Marco Polo Centre with migrant worker families, including one thief who stole bicycle of our cook Mrs Xu (Paddy's Mum, herself a poor person)!  Robbery was seen by a little girl who said bike was taken by a man.....one of the men in photos 2 & 3? 



Stealing always been a problem, but getting worse. Even in country village areas, reports  say if you hang your washing out, it will be gone before it's dry!  Here in the city, people even stealing bulbs,  street wires, pavement tiles, manhole covers, signs.  Problem of course is associated with poverty situation. And problem is not just in China. Security is obviously an increasingly serious issue in every country as gap between rich and poor widens. Rich people will continue barricading themselves into bastilles until they are guillotined?
